A roll of film ends after thirty-six presses of the shutter. Once the finished roll is handed to a lab, it takes days to learn what came out. Nothing can be fixed in those days, and the picture that comes back is the only one there is, blur and all. The light of the day it was taken and the days spent waiting are held in the same frame. Some things are precious because they cannot be undone.

Every year the digital world turns another piece of imagination into reality. The things we watched in films as children are already here. Ask an AI and it answers, a self-driving car reads the light and crosses the intersection, and a rocket that was launched comes back down to land where it started.

We are living in an age of nostalgia for an analog world that is slipping away, and of an artificial intelligence that keeps turning imagination into reality. Some try to hold on to the analog, and others would turn everything digital. In a time when one world is setting and another is opening, this place is a small journey toward an answer to how we ought to live.
